Volunteers are very important in the lives of our residents. They help provide a variety of activities and, more important, often become friends or companions for residents who lost this type of relationship when they moved here from their homes. Volunteers also help residents stay involved in community activities and community life.
Volunteers can choose a number of ways to help our residents:
- Serving on the welcoming committee

Visiting with residents one-on-one

Providing transportation to recreational programs

Leading group activities

Conducting birthday parties

Sending greeting cards

Playing the piano

Pastoral counseling We also need volunteers for “behind the scenes” activities like:

Decorating for holidays

Distributing activity calendars

Shopping for residents

Performing small mending jobs

Editing or publishing our newsletter
